overlook on 2025
2025 was a year full of motion—both literally and figuratively. Between snowy slopes, office spreadsheets, and countless cups of coffee, I now sit at my new desk, in my new apartment, with my old computer, reflecting on how much can change in a single year. As many of my years have been, it felt like I lived several lifetimes in one.
The year kicked off with the usual suspects—energy, momentum, and pressure. Professionally, I was thriving—managing multi-million-dollar dealer accounts, supporting sales teams, and keeping logistics running smoothly. I celebrated my one-year work anniversary in January and felt immense gratitude for the industry I work in and the challenges it brings. I never minded the workload because I genuinely enjoyed the work. Some of my favorite parts were solving problems, connecting with people, and building systems that benefit everyone involved.
At the same time, I was navigating personal challenges that required more attention than I had previously allowed myself. Balancing a demanding career with personal relationships wasn’t easy, and I realized I needed to improve how I managed my time and energy. I began focusing on personal development and learning better strategies to support both my professional performance and personal well-being.
Outside the office, 2025 was just as full. I continued coaching and mentoring snowboarders at Stevens Pass with the Chill Foundation, an experience that deeply mattered to me. Eventually, I made the difficult decision to step back and refocus on my professional goals. While not easy, it was an important moment of prioritization and self-awareness.
That spring brought additional challenges, including the loss of our family dog of 17 years. Being far from home while managing a fast-paced career required resilience and adaptability.
Then came July—one of the biggest professional transitions of my life: leaving my role at Elevate. It was more than a job change; it meant stepping away from a team, a routine, and a role I had worked hard to grow into. Like many major transitions, it forced me to pause, reflect, and reassess what I wanted moving forward.
The months that followed became a period of learning and recalibration. I spent time reflecting on how I work best and what I need to succeed long-term. I approached my job search with structure and intention—treating it like a job in itself. Building strong organizational systems, from detailed planning to consistent routines, helped me regain clarity and confidence.
One important realization was that time had always been there—I simply needed better systems to use it well. With the right strategies in place, I now make space for work, relationships, fitness, creativity, and rest. I feel confident that as I step into my next role, I can maintain balance while continuing to perform at a high level.
2025 was also the year I reconnected with creativity. Inspired by the idea of taking the old and making it new, I began experimenting with upcycling fashion—transforming existing pieces into something fresh and wearable. It’s a creative outlet I’m excited to keep exploring and sharing.
This year pushed me to reflect deeply on my journey and how I arrived here. Revisiting my past gave me clarity, motivation, and a renewed desire to tell my story with intention.
Looking ahead to 2026, I’m excited to keep growing, trying new things, and connecting with people and projects that inspire me—both professionally and creatively. And maybe, just maybe, I’ll finally land that perfect run down the halfpipe.
There’s more to say about 2025, but I’ll leave it at this: goodbye to a challenging, formative, and unforgettable year. It wasn’t easy—but it shaped me in ways I’m grateful for.
Here’s to what’s next.
